ABOUT PROFILING WEB USERS AND CREATING SEGMENTS

Both Interest and demographic segments are developed:

Pages on partner sites in the Crimtan Ad Network carry our unique Crimtan Pixel that automatically determines the interests of anonymous individuals who view that page.

Individuals who repeatedly visit sites identified as favoured destinations for specific age or gender groups are allocated to demographic segments.

Each time a web user looks at a page on a Crimtan partner website, the relevant interest or demographic segment - and the confidence factor of that segment - is updated. That segment and others are part of an interest profile that is associated with a cookie stored on the anonymous user's computer.
